Honest Review of Pierre Victoire, Soho, London.
Where Soho’s Buzz Meets Rustic French Romance.
Nestled in the heart of Soho, Pierre Victoire has long been a fixture on London’s dining scene, promising classic French bistro fare without breaking the bank. But does this established reputation still hold true? After a recent visit (March 2025), for the first time by recommendation, I’m here to offer an honest and straightforward review of our party of four experience, digging into the food, service, and overall atmosphere of this Soho institution.
Located at the busy intersection of Dean Street and Oxford Street in Soho, a stone’s throw from Tottenham Court Road Station, Pierre Victoire was already bustling when we arrived for our 12:30 lunch reservation. We were promptly seated at a pleasant table in the center of the dining room.

Review:
We all agreed that the food was exceptionally tasty, plentiful for the price, and served hot, with decent presentation. Despite the bustling atmosphere, perfect for our long, leisurely lunch, our set menu choices were complemented by fresh bread, desserts, beer, wine, and coffees. The final bill, including service, came to under £50 per person for four – remarkable value for the quality of food in London’s West End.
The staff were pleasant and efficient, adeptly catering to both those in a hurry and those wanting to linger. It seemed many diners were regulars, a testament to the restaurant’s appeal. Our only minor quibble after nearly three hours was the slightly uncomfortable seating, though we noted some cushioned options for our inevitable return, especially considering the appealing prices on the evening menu.
Summary
For anyone visiting London, this bistro comes highly recommended. Whether for lunch or dinner (booking is advisable), Pierre Victoire offers a delightful combination of pleasant atmosphere, good food, and excellent service, all at a price that can be tailored to your budget.
