Review of Pierre Victoire, Soho, London.
Where Soho’s Buzz Meets Rustic French Romance.
Nestled in the very heart of London’s vibrant and bustling Soho district, the establishment known as Pierre Victoire has, over a considerable period of time, firmly established itself as a well-known and much-frequented fixture on the city’s diverse and ever-evolving dining scene. This long-standing and respected restaurant has consistently presented itself to the public as a purveyor of authentic and time-honored classic French bistro fare, meticulously prepared and served with a commitment to culinary tradition. Crucially, Pierre Victoire also makes the appealing and significant promise of delivering this traditional and satisfying culinary experience without imposing an undue or excessive financial burden on its valued patrons, positioning itself as an accessible option in a sometimes costly area.
However, a pertinent and important question naturally arises for both regular diners and potential new customers alike: does this well-established and enduring reputation, carefully built up over many years of dedicated service and consistent offerings, still accurately and reliably reflect the current reality of the dining experience at Pierre Victoire? Has the restaurant managed to maintain its standards and values in the face of changing times and increased competition? Following a recent visit to this Soho institution in March of 2025, an experience undertaken for the very first time based on a personal recommendation from a trusted friend and fellow food enthusiast.
I am now prepared to offer a comprehensive, detailed, and entirely honest and straightforward review of the overall experience shared by our party of four diners. This review will delve into the crucial aspects that contribute to any memorable and enjoyable dining occasion, carefully and critically examining the quality and execution of the food served by the kitchen staff, the attentiveness and professionalism of the service provided by the restaurant’s waiting staff, and the overall ambiance and atmosphere that permeates this well-known and often-discussed Soho establishment, considering its unique character and charm.
Located at the busy intersection of Dean Street and Oxford Street in Soho, a stone’s throw from Tottenham Court Road Station, Pierre Victoire was already bustling with patrons, when we arrived for our 12:30 lunch reservation. We were promptly seated at a pleasant table in the center of the dining room.

Review:
We all agreed that the food was exceptionally tasty, plentiful for the price, and served hot, with decent presentation. Despite the bustling atmosphere, perfect for our long, leisurely lunch, our set menu choices were complemented by fresh bread, desserts, beer, wine, and coffees. The final bill, including service, came to under £50 per person for four – remarkable value for the quality of food in London’s West End.
The staff were pleasant and efficient, adeptly catering to both those in a hurry and those wanting to linger. It seemed many diners were regulars, a testament to the restaurant’s appeal. Our only minor quibble after nearly three hours was the slightly uncomfortable seating, though we noted some cushioned options for our inevitable return, especially considering the appealing prices on the evening menu.
Summary:
For anyone visiting London, this bistro comes highly recommended. Whether for lunch or dinner (booking is advisable), Pierre Victoire offers a delightful combination of pleasant atmosphere, good food, and excellent service, all at a price that can be tailored to your budget.
